Currently, over 1 million people in the United States are living with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) [1]. Furthermore, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has estimated that approximately 50,000 persons in the United States become infected with HIV each year with approximately 21,000 persons in the United States dying each year due to the epidemic [2]. Worldwide, the story is even more tragic with over 30 million persons, aged 15-49 years living with HIV, with 2.5 million people becoming infected annually, the majority of them women [1]. CHICAGO–(BUSINESS WIRE)–AKHAN Semiconductor is pleased to announce that it will be a supporting sponsor of Devil Hack 1.00, Warren Township High School’s first ever hackathon, on January 28th and 29th, 2017. Devil Hack is a weekend long “invention marathon” during which local area high school upperclassmen and community college students from the College of Lake County will work together to learn, build & share creations over the course of a weekend.
To prevent an increase in global average temperatures that would pose unacceptable risks to life on Earth, we must rapidly and significantly reduce emissions of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere.
