Geza Gyuk is the Director of Astronomy at the Adler Planetarium & Astronomy Museum and a Senior Research Associate at the University of Chicago. He received his Bachelor of Science in Physics/ Mathematics from Brown University and went on to become an NSF Graduate Fellow, obtaining his Ph.D. in Physics at the University of Chicago.

The use of solar energy has long been a major goal to provide humans with “free” electricity. This is a very appealing aspiration because on a sunny day the sun gives Earth more energy than we can use. Solar energy has the potential to provide cheap green electricity and eliminate our dependence on fossil fuels.
Wearable robots are nothing new to science fiction and comic book heroes, and have been gaining popularity in the real world as a means to extend human physical capabilities.
A new possible application of robotic exoskeletons has now come to light, thanks to a recent study from the University of Chicago – these devices may hold the key for patients hoping to regain the use of a paralyzed limb.
