Join us at the Museum of Science and Industry’s Kick-off to Summer Picnic. We will be sharing some awesome space science and experimenting with stomp rockets to celebrate the launch of summer!
Bring your picnic blanket and sunscreen, play some lawn games, and enjoy hands-on activities with STEM community partners from across the city at this event on the Museum’s north lawn. Food and beverages will be available for purchase, while supplies last. This outdoor event is free and open to the public. Museum Entry requires a ticket purchase.
A total solar eclipse is coming to the United States on April 8th. Here in Chicago we will have a chance to see 95% partial solar eclipse.
Join C2ST and the DuSable Museum as we experience the solar eclipse! This event is an opportunity to participate in hands-on educational activities centered around the eclipse, witness the awe-inspiring spectacle first hand and speak with experts in the field of astronomy.
Eclipse viewing glasses will be available too!
Kickoff summer at the FREE inaugural Big Marsh Arts Festival, a family-focused event to celebrate local art and artists and recognize several recent art installations at Big Marsh Park. Guests are invited to participate in workshops and activities (pre-registration may be required), explore the park, bike, hike, and picnic and bring a bike or rent one here. The newly opened Nature Trail Café will feature summer sandwiches, wraps, and drinks.
*Weather permitting, most of the festival will take place outside, with the potential to hold a class or demonstration inside the Ford Calumet Environmental Center.
