Science Riot Presented by C2ST

Scientists – trying standup comedy? Science Riot, presented by the Chicago Council on Science and Technology, will bring two science comedy storytelling shows to the city this spring.

We have some scientists who want to teach you a little about what they do–it will be a riot! Get a taste of what you’re in for here; our show will feature local scientists delivering their stories in a humorous way. From a researcher studying binge drinking to another who builds robots, you’re guaranteed to learn and laugh.

Science Riot, a nonprofit that operates in cities throughout the country, has worked with hundreds of scientists and institutions like the Denver Museum for Nature and Science and the Space Foundation. Past presenters have included people from a wide range of professions, including an archaeologist, a registered dietician, cartographer, and pilot. Science Riot focuses on how to make their expertise relatable and interesting, and funny!

Want to see great comedy and learn something new in the process? Get your tickets for our inaugural show at The Field Museum. There’s nothing like a night out with comedy, a few drinks, and science!

DETAILS: Opening night is Friday, March 23rd, 2018 at The Field Museum’s Rice Hall, 1400 Lake Shore Drive, Chicago, IL 60605. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., show runs 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. This show is for adult audiences only (18 years old or older). Tickets are available on Eventbrite. Don’t wait to purchase your tickets–Science Riot shows typically sell out. Parking is available at Soldier Field’s North Garage. Parking fee is typically $22 (special events at Soldier Field can cause prices to fluctuate). Please consider car-pooling or use public transportation (Roosevelt stop on the Green and Orange lines). Please use the West entrance doors for entry into The Field Museum. Drinks will be available for purchase.

Save the date for the encore performance with the same ensemble of scientists at Theater on the Lake. The second show will take place April 20th at 7 p.m.
