The April 20th BP Deepwater Horizon Macondo well blowout, explosion, fire and oil spill was the most significant economic, environmental and societal disaster of 2010, what were the causes? At the request of the US Secretary of the Interior, Kenneth Salazar, the National Academy of Engineering investigated and released a report on the causes of the Deepwater Horizon oil rig blowout and suggested ways to prevent such a disaster from happening again.

C2ST is pleased to present Dr. Arnold Stancell, former Mobil Oil senior executive and co-author of the National Academy of Engineering report, as he discusses the details of what happened on April 20, 2010 and how similar disasters in the future might be prevented.
