On Thursday, May 21st, the Chicago Council on Science and Technology (C2ST) will hold our largest fundraising event of 2020, the “Science in the City” gala.
We hope you’ll join us as we celebrate public STEM outreach with community members, academic and industry leaders, educators, and young professionals from across Chicagoland. This year we will be facilitating introductions between young and established professionals in different STEM fields, so you can be sure to meet someone new and learn a new perspective! Additionally, all guests can take a tour of the Simpson-Querrey Institute and win unique and priceless experiences through our auction items (like a private tour of the Gemstone Gallery and archives at the Field Museum!).
As always, just by attending the “Science in the City” gala and participating in the evening’s festivities, you will be supporting our mission to bring STEM awareness and understanding to the greater Chicago public.
Over the course of an evening filled with food, drinks, and entertainment, gala attendees will have the unique opportunity to network with each other and with C2ST board and staff members. Additionally, all guests can take a tour of the Simpson-Querrey Institute and win unique and priceless experiences through our raffles (like a private tour of the Gemstone Gallery and the archives at the Field Museum!). The centerpiece of the evening will be the STEM Outreach Achievement Awards, a yearly event that celebrates outstanding achievements in the Chicago STEM community. View past awardees here.
We rely on the generosity and engagement of people like you to provide exciting and valuable programming year after year. Please join us to help pave the way for a productive 2020 and beyond.
The global spread of the COVID-19 has become a source of concern, stress, and disruption for businesses, families, and organizations big and small. We understand that the situation in Chicago is not yet dire, but we are also aware that preventative measures need to be taken to keep it that way.
That being said, we are in the beginning stages of an audit of our programs and public appearances over the coming weeks. We are monitoring the COVID-19 situation closely, and should things begin to change here in Chicago, we will notify you of any changes made to our schedule.
We take public health and safety very seriously here at C2ST and the last thing we want is to contribute in any way to the spread of both the virus and the fear or uncertainty that comes with it.
Please keep an eye on our social media platforms for immediate updates. Emails will surely follow if necessary. In the meantime, please practice proper hygiene and social distancing techniques. And most importantly, stay positive!
The preferred attire for the evening is business formal.
Tickets with discounted parking at Northwestern University will be available for guests. Please be sure to arrive by 6 PM if you plan to tour the Simpson-Querrey Building.
Young professional ticket rates are available, email email@example.com to obtain a discount code.
